On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, which also marks the International Day of Non-Violence, the Assistant High Commission of India in Rajshahi organized a Blood & Plasma Donation Camp to help the community in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was graced by Mr. A. H. M. Khairuzzaman Liton, Honorable Mayor of the Rajshahi City Corporation as the Chied Guest. Ekushey Padak Awardee (second highest civilian award in Bangladesh) Pandit Amoresh Roy Chowdhury inaugurated the event and Dr. Chitta Ranjan Misra, Professor of the Department of History in University of Rajshahi gave a talk on Gandhiji's Ideology and Philosophy. The event which was organized with the support of doctors of Sandhani (a voluntary organization), was well appreciated by the local authorities and got wide coverage in the local media.
The Assistant High Commissioner of India in Rajshahi, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Bhati visited Pabna on October 3, 2020 and interacted with members of Pabna Press Club. After the interaction, three computers and one printer were also gifted by him to Pabna Press Club for their official use.
